You may hear some mooing coming from down the street and think it is the stash of cattle for the BBQ but it is the Lexington Livestock Commission livestock sale which goes on every Saturday at 12:00 noon. It is fun to be a rancher for the day and go see all the livestock and perhaps stay for the sale. Nearby Taylor, Texas and Elgin, Texas have their own share of great BBQ restaurants and others. Elgin has Meyer’s Sausage Company at 188 Highway 290 and Southside Market and BBQ at 1212 Highway 290 E. In Taylor I love the Davis Grocery and Vencil Mare’s Taylor Café.
